General description
Protein fat-free homolog (Fat Free), also known as Vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein 51 homolog and Another new gene 2 protein (ANG2). Fat Free is a component of the Golgi-associated retrograde protein (GARP) complex which mediates the tethering and fusion of endosome-derived transport carriers to the trans-Golgi network (TGN). The GARP complex maintains protein retrieval from endosomes to the TGN, acid hydrolase sorting, lysosome function, endosomal cholesterol traffic and autophagy. Fat Free participates in acid hydrolase receptor transport, likely by promoting tethering and fusion of endosome-derived carriers to the TGN.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Fat Free.
